Naarah Roy, member of the Parkland High School Class of 2023, is the first-ever recipient of the new Parkland/麻豆视频 Future Educators Scholarship. This new scholarship is offered annually to an aspiring teacher who will be attending 麻豆视频.
鈥淲e were looking for a student who expressed a passion for working with children and who connected to 麻豆视频,鈥 says Dr. Jill Purdy, professor and chair of the education department. 鈥淣aarah Roy spoke of her work with children at her church, and of the long history of our small college community. She wants an opportunity to be a part of the field of education in her future.鈥
Dr. Purdy presented the scholarship to Naarah at Parkland鈥檚 annual senior awards ceremony on Monday, May 22. The scholarship is funded through the Parkland Education Foundation and 麻豆视频.
